IRAQI FREEDOM
That's the news focus these days -- the eyes of the world are on this endeavor. But, especially as we celebrate Christ's resurrection, we are reminded that is also what Easter is about...FREEDOM for those in Iraq, Palestine, Israel, Liberia, US and the whole world. Jesus Christ made the "ultimate sacrifice" that ALL who put their trust in Him can enjoy freedom from sin's bondage and hope for today and all of eternity. Our Hope is that the GOOD NEWS of freedom will be proclaimed in every tribe and nation -- and the bonds of our enemy will be broken.
This war has significance to us for another reason -- Kevin called us late Mon (on my birthday) to say he was flying out the next day for the Middle East. We knew it was coming but not that suddenly. How wonderful if the Lord could use the many in our military who know Him personally as frontline missionaries while in Iraq. I know you're praying -- and it blesses us greatly!!
For those who asked for Kevin's address:
Spc Kevin Kejr

We are told that mail is loaded last after all the supplies; items shoe box size or smaller are more apt to make the cut. The email address at the top will still work for Kevin when and if he has access to a computer. Some have asked for periodic updates on Kevin's situation by email. If you want us to include you, let us know by email.
LIBERIA
The ministries continue on by the grace of God and under Liberian leadership. We praise God for the growing church there. Life is still very difficult. At times fighting has been close to the city. A new Korean family has recently joined the Sacras. They will be working with/encouraging the churches.
WAREHOUSE
Many of Steve's family came for a week in December for a "ware-house raising" (like a barn raising). It was great fun working together! Much was accomplished and it was a tremendous encouragement to us! The addition is not finished yet but it's getting close.
TRIP SOUTHWEST
Thanks to all of you who prayed for our southern trip in Nov. It was wonderful to see many of you...AND our car made it. In three weeks we expect to make another trip to KS for Joseph's graduation from KSU. He will be coming home and working in the computer department at SIM.
SUMMER
The summer months are the busiest time for me in member care as many of our missionaries come through the office from the field, beginning their home assignments. Please pray for great dependence upon Him in the months ahead and that I will be a tool the Lord can use, however He chooses in their lives.
Our Friendship Day last fall was a great success. Nearly 1000 came to visit. Plans are again in progress for another Friendship Day in Sept. Please pray the Lord will use it to mobilize the troops for His kingdom.
VISION
April 22 I had cataract surgery on my left eye. We're not sure how my vision will end up but at least I'll only have one contact to deal with. The right eye also has a cataract that might need attention soon.
TEAM TRIP
The possibility of Steve and I leading a work team on an overseas mission project is in the discussion stage. Pray that we will be able to focus on our responsibilities here and still handle all the details required for such a trip if the Lord leads in that direction.
THANKS
To you for praying and to our Heavenly Father for His provision. This week as we are trying to get a donated generator ready to ship to a new hospital in Ethiopia, the Lord sent help at the precise time Steve needed it. Alan and Dee Warden "happened" to come by to visit for several days. Alan, the electrical engineer Steve worked with in Liberia, was a big help in getting the generator in good working order and ready to be shipped.
Many times when volunteers have come the Lord has granted the needed good weather so the work they came to do could be done. Were you praying???
In His Hands,
Steve and Carol
PS: Just received word Steve's mother has been diagnosed with multiple myeloma.
Thanks for praying.
